An animated film telling the history of Temple Newsam Farm, from its earliest days to the present, played on a loop inside the barn itself. A paper puppet theatre aesthetic was developed, characters on sticks against layered scenery, to give the piece a bold, handmade quality that would work in the space.

The film was going to be played against a brick wall inside the barn, it needed to really stand out, so I went with a paper puppet theatre style which I think gave it a lot of character and worked really well in that setting.
All the background and landscape assets were made by me, and I handled pretty much the whole animation from start to finish. It was one of the first times I'd taken on something like this mostly by myself, so there was definitely a learning curve, but I'm really proud of how it came together.
