The films pair live-action footage of Danish actors with fully CGI backgrounds, recreating the atmosphere of 1800s Copenhagen at a 1-to-1 scale, putting visitors directly into the world of J.C. Carlsberg and his son Carl. The stories range from the brewery's relocation to Valby and a devastating fire, to the personal tensions between father and son, giving the brand's history an unexpectedly human quality.
My work focused on compositing, setting up live-action footage within Cinema4D scenes and matching the lighting to ensure the actors sat convincingly within their CGI surroundings. I was also tasked with creating and animating a blueprint of the new Carlsberg factory - designed to feel like it was coming off the page - which was a fun challenge to figure out technically and one of my favourite bits of the project.
